Big Things in Store for the 2020 Toyota Tacoma

A new look and feel await Modesto Tacoma buyers in 2020

For the 2020 model year, Toyota seems to be taking a bold approach to both design and trim level offerings for many of their vehicles. Fortunately, the Tacoma pick-up truck is a part of that plan and gets stunning new looks and a flotilla of new packages that are sure to excite fans of the brand and newcomers alike.

Power and Performance Updates

There will be two engines available: A 2.7-liter four-cylinder putting out 159 horsepower, and a 3.5-liter V6 producing 278 horsepower. On all trims except the TRD Sport, they’ll be attached to a six-speed automatic, whereas the Sport offers a six-speed manual option.

For serious off-roaders, the TRD Off-Road trim offers tuned Bilstein shocks, a hill-assist, terrain selection, crawl-control, and a locking rear differential. Tech that can tackle any terrain, anytime.

Enhanced Design

On the outside, a new, more pronounced grille and some updated wheel designs help the new Tacoma stand out on the street. The TRD Sport version also receives chrome taillights and LED fog lights to help it further make a visual impact.

New Creature Comforts

Inside, premium audio awaits, a clear upgrade from prior versions of the small pickup. In addition, the standard seven-inch touchscreen is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, so you can connect all of your favorite apps and devices with ease. Higher-end versions can be fitted with a slightly larger 8-inch screen, and add JBL® speakers to further enhance the auditory experience.

Safer Than Ever Before

The new Tacoma is also set to receive a plethora of advanced safety features, some of which may offer assistance in off-road scenarios as well. Pre-collision braking, pedestrian detection, and lane-departure alert with sway warning aim to keep you safe on the highway and in the city, and the surround camera shows a 360-degree view of the entire vehicle to help navigate tight situations.
