If you're like a lot of drivers around Turlock and Manteca these days, then you've had your sights set on buying or leasing a new pickup truck. However, you're waiting for the right pickup truck for your needs to come on the market. And if you value equal parts capability and efficiency, you owe to yourself to check out the new Toyota Pickup EV concept.

Now, we don't yet know what nameplate the Toyota Pickup EV concept will ship under, but while it's not fully confirmed yet, it's almost certainly in the works. From early teaser images shared from the Shanghai Auto Show, the new Toyota Pickup EV looks like it slots somewhere between the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra in size.

At this early stage, there's not too much in the way of powertrain information out there so we won't know much about its efficiency or capability yet, but we can infer a lot about its design from the teaser images. With its raised stance, skid plate, and pronounced fenders, it looks like the Toyota Pickup EV is shaping up to be a model that you could potentially take off road.
